Posted hours before its intended reveal, this is a new Resident Evil project in line with previous CG animated efforts — namely Resident Evil: Degeneration, Resident Evil: Damnation, and Resident Evil: Vendetta. Infinite Darkness will feature the return of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield — the protagonists of Resident Evil 2 who also reunited and lead the cast of RE: Degeneration animated film.

As far as story goes, the trailer gives off a dark and mysterious air to things. We see Claire Redfield entering an abandoned house, where she finds what looks to be broken sample holders and a dead body with a shotgun. Meanwhile, Leon S. Kennedy has a run in with a mysterious man that he saves from a zombie attack. Both character models will be familiar to fans, as Claire sports her outfit from Resident Evil Revelations 2 while Leon looks like his older veteran self from Resident Evil 6 but sporting a more professional government agent outfit.
